Nettle contains gallic acid, histamine, caustic formate (formic) acid, chlorophyll, acetylcholine, serotonin, glykokinones, many metals (calcium, potassium, manganese), vitamins A, B, C, and tannins.
Hippocrates had classified the nettle among the “panacea” plants, what they do for all diseases.
It is mainly used for the treatment of acute and chronic nephritis or cystitis.
It is especially beneficial for those suffering from jaundice, biliary diseases, gastric ulcer, bronchial disorders and chronic diarrhea.
