Green tea has been used in Asia for over 1200 years not only as a
drink, but topically to help treat skin issues. Green tea can protect the
skin from aging and serious damage from the sun’s UVB rays.
Biochemica® Matcha Green Tea is valued for use in cosmetics and
toiletries due to its high content of polyphenols, epigallocatechin
gallate (EGCg) and xanthines. Xanthines present in matcha, such as
Caffeine and Theobromine, have natural anti-inflammatory,
anti-cellulite and anti-irritancy benefits.

THE ORIGINS OF MATCHA
Biochemica® Matcha Green Tea Butter is produced from the microfine
powder of ground Camellia sinensis (green tea) leaves. The leaves are
dried and then ground into a powder. These leaves originates in China
and Japan where the green tea plants for matcha are shade-grown for
about three weeks before harvest, and the stems and veins are removed
in processing. During shaded growth, the plant Camellia sinensis
produces more the anine and caffeine. These hand picked leaves are
considered higher quality tea leaves and are valued for their medicinal
and topical benefits.
Biochemica® Matcha Green Tea Butter is loaded with
epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg). Matcha's anti-oxidant
properties are over 65x stronger than the average fruit or
